Displays itself with pale or frayed fins that have pink/white edges and a bit of blood. If you have finrot in your tank, most of the fish will have it. It is triggered by stress from poor water quality. The wounds are easily attacked by fungus. If you have finrot, immediately improve the water conditions and isolate any fish that nip on other fish.
Treat with a finrot treatment to prevent further spread of the disease and consider adding 1 to three grams of salt to every liter of water in the tank. This reduces the amount of salt that your goldfish loses.
